The main alternatives to Flytographer in Paris are other booking marketplaces (LocalLens, Localgrapher), a budget platform (Smiler), Airbnb Services, activity sites such as Viator, and hiring a Paris photographer directly. They differ less in photo quality than in price format, how many photos you get, whether you can talk to the photographer first, and who you deal with if something goes wrong. Below: what Flytographer offers in Paris, who it suits, and how each alternative compares, with prices seen at the time of writing (October 2026).

What Flytographer offers in Paris

Flytographer is a booking marketplace for vacation photography. You pay Flytographer a fixed package price, it assigns a photographer or lets you pick one, and its team handles the planning. Its Paris page listed 17 photographers in October 2026, and the company says it hand-picks them “from fewer than 3% of applicants”.

Paris packages at the time of writing (October 2026):

Length Edited photos Price
30 minutes 20 $325
60 minutes 35 $425
90 minutes 50 $590
2 hours 65 $715

What else to know, from Flytographer’s Paris page, terms and cancellation policy:

  • Delivery: gallery within 5 days.
  • Locations: its Paris routes carry no location or permit fees; the “Must-See Paris” route requires paid transport between stops.
  • Proposals: separate packages at $425 for 30 minutes and $525 for an hour, $100 more than the regular ones, with planning time with the photographer.
  • Extras: extra time costs $165 per 30 minutes.
  • Cancellation: 90% refund up to 15 days ahead; 50% within 15 days once your shoot plan has been delivered, until 7 days before; no refund within 7 days. Its booking page adds a full refund if bad weather makes the shoot impossible.
  • Usage: photos are licensed for personal use only, and the photographer keeps the copyright.
  • Support: concierge planning, a backup photographer, and a “love your photos, or we’ll make it right” promise.

Is Flytographer worth it?

It depends on what you are paying for. Flytographer’s strengths are real: a brand many US travelers already trust, prices in dollars, a planning team, a backup if your photographer falls ill, and a satisfaction promise. Its Paris proposal content is polished, and it is a reassuring choice if you would rather not vet a photographer yourself.

Map Happy’s reviewer called it “not the cheapest” and found the 30-minute package short (she received 40 photos for a 60-minute shoot). Public reviews are hard to use: when we checked, Flytographer’s Trustpilot page held only two reviews, too few to draw any conclusion either way, and many “Flytographer review” posts online are affiliate articles with discount codes.

Flytographer is likely worth it if you value the concierge layer and the guarantee more than choice or photo count. It is less of a fit if you want to talk at length with your photographer before paying, need commercial usage rights, or are working to a tight budget.

LocalLens: the closest like-for-like

LocalLens works much like Flytographer: fixed packages, a choice of photographers (15 or more shown for Paris in October 2026) and delivery within 5 business days. Its Paris prices are lower for every length in the table above, though the 30-minute package includes fewer photos (15).

Two details matter for planning. Proposals require at least the 1-hour package ($295). And LocalLens holds your payment until after the shoot, which some travelers find reassuring. Location entry or permit fees, travel outside the photographer’s area and add-ons (flowers, champagne, video with some photographers) are charged on top.

Localgrapher and Smiler

Localgrapher publishes one global price grid rather than a Paris one: $280 for 30 minutes and 20 photos, $390 for an hour and 35 photos, $550 for 100 minutes and $630 for 2 hours with 75 photos. You choose the destination, photographer and date, its booking team handles the rest, and the photographer contacts you after payment. Galleries arrive within 4 business days, and Localgrapher advertises a money-back guarantee if you don’t like the photos. Its Trustpilot page showed a TrustScore of 4.6 from 93 reviews in October 2026, with praise for punctual photographers and fast delivery, and complaints about extra editing charges, unanswered refund requests and unhelpful support.

Smiler, a budget platform, has the lowest entry prices of the marketplaces: 15 minutes and 5 photos from €69, 30 minutes and 20 photos from €99, an hour and 55 photos from €159. Galleries arrive within 48 hours and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours ahead. Entrance fees and transport are extra.

Airbnb Services and activity sites

Airbnb Services lets independent photographers sell sessions inside the Airbnb app. Prices are set by each photographer and vary widely; some listings are priced per guest, others per group. Airbnb’s Help Center says it typically charges service hosts a 15% fee (minimum $6), taken from the photographer’s payout; check the total at checkout before you book. We compare it in detail in Airbnb photographer or booking direct.

Activity marketplaces (Viator, GetYourGuide, Expedia, Tiqets and others) list Paris photoshoots run by photographers or small agencies. Entry prices are low and free cancellation up to 24 hours is common, but prices are often per person, entry offers include few photos, and you usually cannot pick the photographer. Expedia also resells Flytographer’s Paris packages.

Booking a Paris photographer directly

The last alternative removes the middle layer. You find a photographer whose work you like, talk to them, and agree on the price, photo count, delivery time and usage rights yourself. Published rates from Paris studios and agencies put a one-hour day session at roughly €220 to €380 with 20 to 50 edited photos, at the time of writing (October 2026); our Paris photographer price guide has the detail.

What you gain: a direct conversation before you pay, a wider choice of styles, and terms you can negotiate. What you give up: a platform’s guarantee and concierge, so you need to check who you are hiring. Our guide on how to vet a Paris photographer covers that.

Paris Photographers is built for this route. It is a free directory: you browse portfolios, filter by specialty, language and photo spot, and contact photographers directly. There is no commission and no booking fee, and every profile is reviewed by our team before it is listed.

A few names you may come across do not apply to Paris: Shoott is US-only, Perfocal (a UK marketplace) no longer takes bookings, and Snappr’s fixed French pricing (€99 for an hour plus a service fee) is aimed mainly at business shoots.

How to choose between them

Start from what matters most to you:

  1. A guarantee and someone to call: Flytographer or LocalLens.
  2. The lowest entry price: Smiler or an activity site, after checking the photo count and whether the price is per person.
  3. Everything in an app you already use: Airbnb Services.
  4. A specific style, a long talk first, or a complex plan (a hidden proposal, an elopement, several locations): an independent photographer booked direct.
  5. Usage rights for a business or brand account: ask before booking, whatever the route; Flytographer’s photos are for personal use.

FAQ

Is Flytographer worth it in Paris?

It is worth it if you want a trusted brand, dollar pricing, concierge planning and a satisfaction promise, and you are comfortable with fixed packages. If you would rather choose from more photographers, talk to them before paying, or get commercial rights, other options may fit better.

How much does Flytographer cost in Paris?

At the time of writing (October 2026), Flytographer’s Paris packages cost $325 for 30 minutes (20 photos), $425 for an hour (35), $590 for 90 minutes (50) and $715 for 2 hours (65). Extra time costs $165 per 30 minutes under its terms, and proposal packages cost $425 for 30 minutes and $525 for an hour.

What is the cheapest alternative to Flytographer in Paris?

Among the platforms we checked, Smiler (from €69 for 15 minutes) and activity listings (often under $100 for a short shoot, per person or per group depending on the listing) have the lowest entry prices. Those entry offers are short and include few photos, so compare the total price with the number of edited photos you will actually get.

Who owns the photos from a Flytographer shoot?

Under Flytographer’s terms, the photographer keeps the copyright and you receive a license to use the photos for personal use only. If you need other rights, such as for a business, ask before booking, whichever platform or photographer you choose.
